Work Permit Procedures for Foreign Personnel
Foreigners, with the exception of students residing in Turkey with a residence permit valid for at least six months, can apply for work permits and extensions to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Foreigners who do not have a residence permit for more than six months will make their applications to our diplomatic missions in their country of citizenship or permanent residence.
Work Permit Extension
Extension procedures can be initiated at the latest two months before the expiry date of the current foreign personnel work permit. If the person's permit has expired, the extension request letter and its accompanying attachments must be registered in the Ministry's General Document Registry within fifteen days from the expiry date. When applying for an extension, the original work permit document with a photo, signed and stamped by the employer, must be submitted.
