Advantages of Formal Education
Formal education is a classroom-based form of education where individuals of specific age groups are in a group in a classroom. Students who complete formal education reach a standard level of aptitude and skills. All tools and books used in formal education are predetermined. Attendance is mandatory to ensure the consistency of the education received by students. Teachers who take on this duty must have proven qualifications and education. In the Republic of Turkey, individuals who have completed 72 months are required to attend formal education, and legal action is initiated against parents who do not comply with this obligation. At the end of formal education, a diploma is awarded to the individual. Since there is direct communication with the teacher, the student acquires knowledge at a level that is easier and more reinforced. In formal education, attention deficits are experienced less and the learning process is shorter due to the communication established with the teacher. Formal education also takes place in a social environment, and these social environments are classrooms. During formal education, various tools and materials are used in conjunction with the lesson. Thanks to formal education, a person's social skills increase, and there are more opportunities for social learning. The motivation of the teacher on duty is higher, and with this motivation, it directly affects students in learning the content of the lesson and contributes to increasing the learning time.
